THE POSITION

As a Developmental Specialist, you will supervise developmental therapy and supported living services, to ensure individuals with developmental disabilities are receiving quality care in a safe environment. You will also be responsible for training and supervising Direct Support Professionals, administering developmental assessments, developing and implementing individual program plans, as well as providing direct services for our individuals on an as-needed basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Maintains DDA compliance with Health & Welfare and Medicaid Rules and Regulations
  • Participate in meetings
  • Acts as primary contact for developmental therapy for clients, families, and other professionals involved
  • Provides individual and group developmental therapy (including transporting clients) as needed
  • Provide evaluations and consultation on an ongoing basis
  • Assist with Quality Assurance and file review
  • Ensures that individuals receiving services are treated with dignity and respect
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in a Human Service field
  • One (1) year experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or 240 hours of professionally supervised experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communications
  • Strong independent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and interdependently
  • Previous supervision experience (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and other software platforms
  • Must provide or obtain CPR/First Aid Certification (provided by RISE)
  • Must provide or obtain MANDT and/or other de-escalation certification training (provided by RISE)
  • Have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license and car insurance
  • Must be able to pass a background check
